Enjoying stunning countryside views, Upfold is a unique property.

The house is situated in a secluded position on Huddersfield Road, tucked away from the main road, but still within the village setting of Ingbirchworth.

Upfold has been lovingly developed by owner, Trevor Longden, over the past 30 years and now features a modern, fitted kitchen with a range of built-in appliances, a sauna, cinema room and fabulous master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room.

Trevor said, “It’s a one-off, you can’t compare it with anything else. It’s a great home for entertaining and throwing dinner parties.

“I’ve been really happy here, but the time has come for me to downsize.”

Originally three shepherds’ cottages, Upfold still features Art Deco and Art Nouveau decor

and has been finished to a high standard with sensor lighting, some underfloor heating, a sauna and south-facing sun terrace.

Trevor said, “It’s a truly unique home, that’s the best way I can think of to describe it.

Inside the home

“When I moved in it was in quite a state of disrepair, but I could already see its potential to be a wonderful home.

“I’ve extended it and worked on it for so long I think I can now finally say that it’s perfect!

“Sitting out on the balcony is blissful – it’s like being in a tree house and is a real sun-trap during the summer.”

The kitchen is a contemporary space with top-of-the range, appliances including steamer, dishwasher, gas wok, barbecue and fridge/freezer.

Trevor continued, “I love cooking, so I wanted a kitchen I’d be happy to cook in. It’s a very modern room and a pleasure to use, the barbecue griddle is great when you’re having guests over and the weather has let you down!”

The lounge

A lot of thought has gone into designing the house; the study has pillars imported from India, the wardrobe in the master bedroom has a trouserpress inside and the cinema is fully soundproofed. It is this attention to detail that makes this home the spectacular property it is.

The house offers versatile accommodation; There are three bedrooms, two en-suite, however the snug can easily convert into a fourth bedroom, and the cinema a fifth.

Living areas include a sitting room; dining room with handmade storage and drinks cabinets and a bespoke mirror with integrated lighting; lounge; and the sun lounge which offers access via French doors to the sun terrace.

Five years ago Trevor put in a third storey and also replaced the original roof with the more traditional one that remains today.

The master bedroom suite has a dressing room and en-suite, which itself has a spiral staircase leading to the sauna, the perfect place to relax after a long day.

The property also boasts a handy laundry room, complete with Belfast sink, a wine cellar and parking for three cars.

With many traditional features such as beamed ceilings and a stone fireplace blended with thoroughly modern fittings, this is a fantastic home anyone would be proud to call their own.
