ROBERT Tyas and members of the Huddersfield Falcon Motor Cycle Club thought they were going to become television stars when they were approached by the producers of Last Of The Summer Wine in 1984.

"We were asked if we could provide several riders to shoot a scene of Compo, Foggy and Clegg being disturbed by a group of off-road motorcyclists," says Robert.

"The scene was set near the top of Tinkers Monument above Jackson Bridge. The first attempt was cancelled when the light failed but was successful on the following day.

"We eagerly waited to see ourselves on TV when the episode was sreened. Unfortnately, I blinked and missed the fleeting glimpse of us in the background."
