It’s success at the double for Holmfirth-based businesswoman Amy Wray.
After landing the title of Young Business Woman of the Year at the 2013 Forward Ladies Awards, the head of Applegate Property won the category for Property Business Woman of The Year at this year’s event.
The awards, held at the Queens Hotel in Leeds, recognise the achievements of professional business women in Yorkshire and the North East, the North West and the Isle of Man. Amy was shortlisted into the category earlier this year against strong competition, including Karen James, partner and head of conveyancing for Huddersfield-based Ramsdens Solicitors.
Amy set up in business in 2010 and has taken the company from strength to strength. Applegate now employs seven staff, has an office in the centre of Holmfirth and last year launched a sales department to complement its lettings business. The firm has also launched a land, new homes and development arm of the company.
Amy’s success follows the Negotiator Awards where Appleagate won the bronze award for Yorkshire and the Humber Agency of the Year.
