A FIRM supplying fire fighting vehicles is blazing a trail – as one of Yorkshire’s fastest-growing exporters.

Batley-based Angloco Ltd features in fourth place in the north-east region in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 100.

The firm was also 74th overall in the UK in the listings for private companies with the fastest-growing international sales over the past two years.

Angloco, which has almost 70 staff, has increased overseas sales by more than 53% over the past two years.

The company is also export-led – with sales to the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa and the Far East exceeding £13m – out of sales of £14.8m.

The company has supplied specialist fire engines and equipment to customers including Qatar Petroleum, Kuwait National Petroleum Company and BP in Trinidad.

It has also landed UK orders from customers including Essex Fire and Rescue Service, Leeds-Bradford Airport and the Ministry of Defence.

The north-east rankings were led by Durham-based steel castings manufacturer Bonds.

Others included Leeds-based brand agency Elmwood Design and Doncaster firm Hydra Mining Tools International.
