A COMPANY with its UK office in Cleckheaton has announced top-level changes.

TMD Friction, the world’s leading manufacturer of brake friction materials for automotive and commercial vehicles, said chief executive officer Derek Whitworth (right, top) had left to pursue new opportunities outside the industry.

He has been succeeded by chief financial officer, John Hudson (also pictured).

Mr Whitworth, who was at the helm for seven years, said: “Having completed the sale of the business to Nisshinbo Holdings Inc. in November, 2011, I now feel that the time is right to step down and explore new challenges outside of the TMD and Nisshinbo groups.”

TMD Friction said Mr Hudson’s appointment allowed continuity of senior management and direction for TMD.

In a further move, Mal Hartland succeeds Mr Hudson as group chief financial officer. Mr Hartland has been with the group since 2001 and has held a number of senior roles in the finance department.
