A FORMER Town chairman and Huddersfield businessman has embarked on a new venture.

Entrepreneur Terry Fisher has joined property firm Flats in Leeds as non-executive chairman.

Mr Fisher, who is pictured with Flats in Leeds managing director Christine Yorath and director Jordan Yorath, has also made an investment in the business, which was launched in 2000 and focuses on lettings, rentals, refurbishments and interior design.

Mr Fisher started his own travel company in 1982 at the age of 19. His Aspley-based business, Travelworld, began with a single shop in Slaithwaite but had expanded to become the fifth-largest in the UK when it was sold in 1988. In 1992, he became the youngest chairman in professional football when he took up the reins at Huddersfield Town at the age of 29.

He has collected a host of business accolades over the past 30 years. His most recent position was chief executive of Thomas Cook Scheduled Businesses, from which he resigned last December.
