VOLUNTEERS from a high street bank helped a group for disabled youngsters to smarten up their new premises.
Twenty helpers from the Halifax Bank of Scotland’s headquarters in Halifax joined supporters of Dare 2B Different in clearing overgrown weeds, planting a vegetable garden and painting the outside of a hut used by the group at the Quarry Hill Centre, Fleminghouse Lane, Almondbury.
The group, which encourages and supports young people with disabilities in the village, has already raised cash to replace the roof and windows at the premises. Other work included installing a new kitchen.
The link-up was organised by Kirklees Council’s young people’s service and Halifax-based Calderdale and Kirklees Cares.
The latter links community groups with businesses able to volunteer staff to help with their projects.
