THE owner of Huddersfield department store Beatties today reported its best-ever week of trading.
House of Fraser, which owns the Beatties chain with a store at Kingsgate, said it had enjoyed "terrific" Christmas trading.
The group said sales in December were up by 7.3% compared with the same month in 2005.
It said that the company's performance during the Christmas week was its best ever.
The latest figures provide an early boost for the company's new owners. The business was sold to a consortium led by Icelandic investment group Baugur for £351m in November.
