Managers at a Huddersfield estate agency are looking to the future following a buy-out of the business.

Boultons Harrisons Ltd has been bought by a team led by Mike Sellers in a move to ensure the “continued progression” of the independently-owned firm of chartered surveyors, auctioneers, estate agents, valuers and property managers.

One of the original owners, Raymond Butterworth, takes on a consultancy role following the buy-out.

Mr Sellers was joined in the move by existing senior personnel Jayne Busfield, Gerard Clarke, Kim Davis and Andrew Sellers along with building surveyor David Wood, who also joins the board as a director.

Tony Jones and Jamie Westwood, of Handelsbanken in Huddersfield, supported the company throughout the process alongside leading local solicitors and accountants.

Mr Sellers said: “The management buy-out creates the platform to best serve the property needs of the local communities through our professionalism and the wide variety of experience and knowledge our team of experts can provide.

“By investing in the superb team we already had in place we can look forward to building on our excellent reputation and continue to meet the needs of our clients through traditional customer focused values built on decades of experience and professionalism.”

Boultons Harrisons Ltd has offices at John William Street in Huddersfield and in Kirkburton and Pontefract.

Said Mr Sellers: “We invest heavily in training in our employees to better deliver a successful conclusion to any transaction, I believe it is vital that our clients can put their trust in staff that not only have professional qualifications but the knowledge to handle the most important and valuable transaction of their lives. If you ally this capability to our investment in new technology, I believe the customers can have the best of both worlds.”
