LAW firm Bailey Smailes has been accredited as a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme which recognises excellence in the home buying process.

The firm, which has offices in Huddersfield and Holmfirth, had to undergo rigorous assessment by the Law Society in order to secure the CQS status, which marks the firm out as meeting high standards in the residential conveyancing process.

In addition to the assessment, the scheme also requires practices to undergo compulsory training, self-reporting, random audits and annual reviews in order to maintain the status.

It is open only to members of the Law Society and to those who meet the demanding standards the scheme will set and has the support of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association and the Association of British Insurers.

Law Society president John Wotton said: “Accredited firms should be congratulated for their achievement.

“The application process is thorough and all those firms who achieve the CQS status have shown that they have what it takes to achieve and maintain high professional standards as well as delivering excellent customer service.”

Mark Thornton, specialist conveyancing solicitor for Bailey Smailes at Holmfirth, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the CQS status by the Law Society.

“It not only demonstrates the firm’s existing commitment to quality and service, but also acts as a spur to continue our drive to further extend the boundaries of service excellence in the future.”
