THE cost of seeking planning approvals came under the spotlight at a seminar in Brighouse.

Mike Sellers, of Boulton Harrisons Ltd, and Alyn Nicholls, of Alyn Nicholls & Associates, discussed the impact of the planning regime on costs and values – and the changes now being proposed by the coalition government to overhaul the planning process.

The breakfast seminar at the Holiday Inn at Clifton also heard from Ian Ponter, barrister of Kings Chambers in Leeds and Manchester, and from Tim Hartley, a chartered town planner and principle planner with Urban Vision.

Boultons Harrisons Ltd, a firm of chartered surveyors, auctioneers, estate agents and valuers, has offices in Huddersfield and Pontefract.

Mr Sellers has 30 years experience reporting on properties and associated valuation issues in West and South Yorkshire.
