A PUB in Kirklees has been sold.

The Golden Fleece (above) at Birkenshaw was sold for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £195,000 for the freehold interest.

The sale was conducted by the Leeds Office of business agents Christie + Co on behalf of the owner, a national pub company.

The detached property comprises a lounge bar with seating for up to 60 people, a games room with separate external access and seating for about 35 and a function room with separate side external access and seating for about 60.

The Golden Fleece also has a catering kitchen, a forecourt and “home and away” sports changing rooms.

Nicholas Thomas, who handled the sale at Christie + Co, said: “The Golden Fleece attracted lots of interest when we placed it on the market. We received a number of offers, the result of which was a ‘best and final’ offer process.”
