A FAMILY-OWNED company in Huddersfield has been selected to play a major role at a concrete industry trade show.
Lockwood-based Decorative Concrete Ltd will host workshops at the first UK Concrete Show, which takes place on February 23 and 24 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
The event will bring together concrete industry professionals from around the world, including architects, engineers and global industry leaders.
Decorative Concrete Ltd specialised in pattern-imprinted concrete and supplied innovative paving systems for more than 15 years.
Founder and managing director John Quinn (pictured) said: “The UK has needed such a dedicated concrete show for quite some time considering the size and complexity of this industry.
“ To be part of this much-needed event is a great achievement for the company and we are looking forward to demonstrating our skills and expertise to the exhibitors.”
Mr Quinn, who has more than 40 years of construction experience, has also formed a licensed network, Spectacular Driveways UK and heads a training and distribution centre at the company’s head office on Albert Street.
Said Mr Quinn: “The success of the business, particularly over the last few years, has been a combination of the passion for the industry and qualities of our maintenance-free paving and the formation of a licensed network of trained and highly skilled installers.”
Steven Callaghan, show director for the organisers Marwood Events, said: “Decorative concrete is an important part of the concrete industry, so we are delighted to see it strongly represented at the show and are particularly pleased to have someone of John’s experience and talent presenting a training workshop – we expect it to be very popular.”
