A HOUSING association with operations in Elland has been praised in an independent report.

Jephson Housing Association Group is “well organised”, financially “strong” and “able to adapt to meet the challenges of continuing to provide new housing supply”, according to the report by industry regulator the Tenant Services Authority.

The TSA has praised Jephson, which owns homes across the north, for engaging with tenants over decision-making.

It also highlights that tenant satisfaction with repairs is rising across the group, thanks to improved contractor performance.

Jephson was also commended for “responding quickly and decisively to the credit crunch” and for “good evidence of continuous improvement via the service improvement groups.”

Bob Strachan, Jephson group chief executive, said: “I welcome this report, which recognises the success of our efforts to work closely with our tenants to provide the best possible service.

“However, we will not rest on our laurels and will stay focused on meeting the challenges of reviewing our development plans and further developing effective tenant scrutiny of our operations.”
