ELLAND-based digital communications agency The Mill Group has produced a new package of support films for housing associations to help tenants to improve their budgeting skills.

As household finances across the UK are squeezed ever tighter due to rising food, fuel and heating prices, The Mill has produced the Money Made Simple package of films to help social landlords provide tenants with practical advice on how best to budget and organise their cash flow.

It can be posted out as a DVD and posted on an organisation’s website for universal access.

It comes as a survey by the Association of Residential Letting Agents shows that four out of 10 letting agents questioned in the final quarter of 2010 reported a rise in the number of tenants having problems paying rent during the previous six months, up from 35.9% in the third quarter.

Money Made Simple covers all the important financial topics, including budgeting, bank accounts and savings, credit and a directory of useful contacts with simple, useful tips at the end of each section.

David Fawcett, marketing director for The Mill Group said: “We came to produce Money Made Simple because social landlords are looking to support tenants who need advice about money matters, from day-to-day managing to long-term budgeting and saving.

“At a time when the recession is still very much apparent this product is ideal to give people the help they need.”
