FIRMS who wish to supply goods to Kirklees Council are being invited to take part in regular sessions demonstrating how the new procurement system works.

'Alito' is the name of the new electronic system which enables potential suppliers to log their details and bid for work with the council.

Potential suppliers attending the sessions will get hands-on experience in how the system works as well as advice on tendering for council business.

Clr Ken Sims, Cabinet member for regeneration, said: "This reinforces our intention to work with the businesses of Kirklees to share the prosperity of regeneration in the borough."

There will be opportunities to see the system at work in the next 12 months and the next three demonstration sessions will take place as follows:

January 16 - 9:30am to 11:30am, Room CS4/02, Computing and Library Services, Central Services Building, University of Huddersfield

February 20 – 12 noon to 2pm, Learn Direct, Get Connected (Mobile Phone Store), Grosvenor Street, Dewsbury.
