CONVENIENCE store chain Costcutter has chosen a company in Huddersfield to provide health and safety services for a number of its sites.
Bradley-based Safety Management And Monitoring Services will carry out fire safety and asbestos risk assessments at 21 Costcutter stores.
As part of the new contract, SM&MS will also supply Costcutter with its Property-Plus system, an easy-to-use health and safety compliance data management system.
The system reports and manages thousands of actions generated from health and safety, fire safety, asbestos and water risk assessments.
The actions identified from the risk assessments can then be ‘closed’ and signed off with progress notes added or allocated to an approved contractor through a link to the company’s ContractorPlus online contractor management system.
York-based Costcutter is a convenience retailer specialising in groceries, beers, wines, and spirits.

The latest success for SM&MS follows a busy 2009 during which the company signed deals with several major names.
They included a deal to provide environmental support and advice to Brindleyplace, a popular business and leisure centre complex in the heart of Birmingham city centre.
In another client win, SM&MS is carrying out health and safety, fire and flood risk assessments, asbestos surveys and online data management for 350 managed properties on behalf of commercial property agency Lambert Smith Hampton.
