BUDDING tycoons will get expert advice at an event in Huddersfield this week.

Ten up-and-coming entrepreneurs will put their ideas to a panel of business leaders at a Dragon's Den event on Friday at the Textile Centre of Excellence, Red Doles Lane, off Leeds Road.

The 10 businesses under scrutiny range from marketing consultants to a firm selling equipment for disabled people.

It is the first of six similar events planned by the Huddersfield- based Enterprise Foundation.

The sessions will be followed by two days of free business training.

It is hoped to provide funding for the best business ideas.

The Enterprise Foundation is the brainchild of the Kirklees On Course Group, a local think-tank led by Huddersfield MP Barry Sheerman and backed by leading business people in the district.

The foundation was set up this year to provide help for people with bright ideas for new businesses.

Last month, Almondbury schoolboy Harley Dawson, 15, became the first entrepreneur to get backing from the foundation for his musical instrument import business Musical Instruments for All.
