Engineering manufacturers’ group the EEF, is working to inspire the next generation of young engineers.

The EEF and Primary Engineer have expanded their programme to see 20 funded schools host a Primary Engineer course, which aims to encourage primary and secondary pupils to consider science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers.

Primary Engineer is a not-for-profit organisation that trains teachers from primary and secondary schools across the UK and delivers various courses in science, technology, engineering and maths subjects.

The courses help teachers to apply practical maths and science skills to modern design and technology projects, which they then take back to their classrooms to inspire young pupils to become the engineers of the future.

Schools are also invited to take part in local, regional and national challenges that celebrate young pupil’s achievements in design and technology.
