A COMPANY that cares about the welfare of its workers is more likely to achieve success.

Now bosses who put strong emphasis on staff training and development can receive the recognition they deserve by entering the PROHMS Ltd Employer of the Year category in the Examiner Business Awards 2010.

Last year’s winner was Elland-based Suma Wholefoods, which was recognised as a co-operative offering opportunities for all its owner-workers to develop skills in every area of running a business.

Judges will be looking for an employer who can demonstrate excellence in the approach to workforce development.

Entrants will be able to show how training needs and skills requirements are assessed and addressed and the benefits that result for employers and employees alike.

PROHMS director Sandra Babbings said: “PROHMS are a well-established group of health professionals consisting of occupational health physicians, specialist practitioners, nurses, occupational health technicians and physiotherapists.

“Our primary aim is to help individuals gain maximum health to fulfil everyday needs inside and outside the workplace in a positive manner. “We appreciate that every story is different and our friendly, approachable teams will work alongside you to promote optimum personal health and wellbeing.

“In the last 12 months, PROHMS has increased its portfolio for well-being by opening the PROHMS Health Academy which looks at personal fitness and work hardening programmes relevant to all industries and individuals.

“PROHMS are keen to support local charities and this year are working hard with the Forget Me Not Hospice to celebrate its opening later this year by organising a half-marathon on October 9, 2011. This is aimed at running clubs and corporate teams.
