A HUDDERSFIELD estate has been given a makeover by one of the world's largest project and cost management consultancies.

Faithful & Gould have just completed a contract to provide the Primrose Hill estate with 79 affordable new homes.

The £7.5m project in the Ridge Street area was awarded to the international consultancy on the basis of its 10-year relationship with Yorkshire Housing Ltd.

The scheme has provided the estate with a mix of single person and family accommodation, along with 10 four-bedroom houses, 21 three-bedroom houses and 48 two- bedroom flats.

All the new homes have achieved an Ecohomes rating of excellent.

Sue Catesby, associate director of Faithful & Gould, said: "One of the requirements for Yorkshire's Housing's funding for the development was the introduction of various elements of sustainable design.

"The dwellings are excellent examples of how energy-efficient homes can also be affordable."

Faithful & Gould was employed by Yorkshire Housing to administer the construction contract between itself and the contractor.
