Manrochem Ltd, based at New North Parade in Huddersfield, was formed in 1990 to undertake process design for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Over the past 25 years it has grown in size and reputation and now carries out projects across the world for clients in a wide range of sectors.
Clients include blue-chip businesses such as Rolls-Royce as well as local companies including pharmaceuticals firm Thornton & Ross at Linthwaite and speciality chemical company Lubrizol at Leeds Road, Huddersfield. Through its office in Chennai, India, Manrochem has also secured work throughout the Middle East and Asia.
Also nominated in the category, sponsored by HSBC, were Camira Group Ltd and The Engine Room.
Edward Jennings said: “We are delighted as this was our hardest category. International trade is important for us. We’re hoping to bring some engineers from India to Huddersfield and ours go out to India.” The firm has picked up two new European orders in the last fortnight.
