EMPLOYEES at a marketing company in Barkisland nominated their boss for the top award – and thrilled founder Judith Wright when she won.
Overjoyed, she said: "For me people are my passion and developing the person is all-important. It’s not about what qualifications someone may or may not have, it’s about them as a person.’’
Judith set up Wright Angle Marketing in 2001 and after two years on her own working from home moved to premises at Bowers Mill.
The company provides services including consultancy and strategic planning, market research, campaign planning, event management and promotions and training.
Judith was nominated for the award by marketing assistant Jodie Mitchell and designer Kirsty Welsh, who were both given a chance to work for the company despite a lack of formal qualifications.
The judges commented: "This is a small company employing four people, but it has a strong philosophy rarely seen in a start-up business. This was a distinctive entry from two people who have been helped onto the career ladder."
Also nominated in this category sponsored by PROHMS Ltd were Cooper’s Coffee and Simply Biz Services Plc.
