A HUDDERSFIELD town centre fashion store changed its name today.
Mark One in Victoria Lane has been rebranded Internacionale after the Mark One business was rescued from administration by Internacionale Retail Ltd late last year in a move to secure more than 800 jobs.
In addition, the existing Internacionale store on the nearby Piazza will close on April 9.
Most of the staff there will transfer to the Victoria Lane outlet to join their Mark One colleagues. In total, the new store will have 13 employees.
Karen Arthur, who will manage the new store, said: “It is good news and means we will have a bigger and better high fashion store for customers with more stock to offer at competitive prices.”.
“We have had a notice in the window explaining what’s happening and we have been handing out leaflets to customers, too.”
The move will leave the Internacionale store at the Piazza empty – but secures the future of the Mark One store next door to the now-vacant Woolworths premises.
Administrators sold the bulk of the Mark One business to Internacionale last November.
