THE search is on to find Yorkshire’s most outstanding business woman.

The Women in Business Awards has been launched by the 11,000-strong networking organisation Forward Ladies, which has a group covering Kirklees and Calderdale.

The outstanding winner will be picked from the winners of nine individual categories and will be announced at an awards lunch to be held in September in Leeds.

Nominations are invited from business women of their friends and colleagues for categories including start-up business woman of the year, young business woman of the year, best home-based business woman and not-for-profit organisation of the year.

The closing date is Wednesday June 30.

Etta Cohen, founder of Forward Ladies, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, said: “We have been asked several times by our members to run this kind of award and we felt the time was now right to launch the awards.

“We have an amazing pool of talented women in Yorkshire and Humber – either running their own businesses or working for companies which are at the cutting edge of innovation and technology.”
