KIRKLEES companies will be out in force tonight for a mini trade show in Huddersfield.

The event has been organised by the Kirklees branch of the Federation of Small Businesses and will run from 7pm to 9pm at the Galpharm Stadium’s English Partnership Suite.

The aim is to spotlight the diversity of small businesses in the area and encourage people to buy locally wherever possible. The show is open to the public and to private and public sector organisations.

The trade show follows a similar event last year when 40 local companies exhibited. Each firm gets a small space or table to offer information about their products or services. Businesses exhibiting range from accountancy and complementary healthcare to funeral services and computers.

Other attractions at the event will include a Support for Wellbeing area. Free preventative health checks – including diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol – will be offered by nurses as part of the NHS cardiovascular health checks programme.

FSB committee member Marsha Allen Dawson said: “This is a good one to attend.

“In just two hours, you can collect 50 special offers, have a free health check, make contact with many useful local suppliers – and enjoy a drink at the bar!”
