ACCOUNTANCY and business services firm Grant Thornton is strengthening its position in Yorkshire with a shake-up that merges its Leeds and Sheffield offices.

The merger sees Leeds become Grant Thornton’s Yorkshire headquarters and ensures its Yorkshire practice is the largest outside the Big Four – with more than 300 staff and turnover totalling £27m.

Jonathan Riley (top), managing partner of Grant Thornton’s Leeds office, steps up to senior practice partner for the Yorkshire-wide business with Garry Meakin (above), current managing partner at Grant Thornton's Sheffield office, as managing partner role of the merged practice.
