CUSTOMERS of the Yorkshire Bank have been urged to donate their unwanted foreign coins to help raise funds for hospices across the country.

Help the Hospices is a national charity which supports more than 240 local hospices, including Kirkwood Hospice at Dalton.

Every branch of Yorkshire Bank will be taking part in World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on Saturday, October 11, by asking for donations of foreign coins.

Collection boxes will be placed in branches from Monday, October 6. Local branches include ones at New Street in Huddersfield, Bradford Road at Brighouse, Southgate in Elland and Market Place in Dewsbury.

Yorkshire Bank and sister organisation Clydesdale Bank have been supporting Help the Hospices since February when it was selected by staff to be both banks’ official charity partner.

The banks, their employees and customers have since been actively involved in a range of fundraising activities. Employees will also be collecting used stamps to boost funds for individual hospices around the country.
