A SIGN manufacturing firm has invested in its workforce.
Four employees at Milnsbridge company Horizon Signs have gained their CSCS cards, which allow them to fit the signs for clients in addition to manufacturing them.
CSCS – the Construction Skills Certification Scheme – was set up to help the construction industry improve quality and reduce accidents.
CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients. They cover hundreds of different occupations within the general construction industry, including craft, operative, technical, supervisory and management roles.
Many projects now demand full compliance with the CSCS scheme as it provides clients with confidence that contractors have attained trade competence and health and safety requirements.
Horizon Signs has won many contracts recently to supply signs to schools and councils across the UK.
CSCS compliance means the company can be in control of a contract from start to finish – from manufacture to fitting.
Horizon director Ross Ball said: “Having four of the workforce with CSCS cards gives our clients’ greater confidence in our employees’ competence and health and safety awareness. It has added another element to our already highly skilled team and is helping us to continue to secure more contracts.”
