A COFFEE distribution firm in Huddersfield is set to find favour with tourists after landing two new contracts.

Bradley-based Cooper’s Coffee will supply coffee and coffee-making machines to the National Coal Mining Museum, near Wakefield, and to Buxton Pavilion at Buxton, Derbyshire.

Buxton Pavilion has recently undergone a £1m refurbishment drive to bring the facilities into the modern era and improve its catering provision.

The revamp includes a new café with outdoor seating, retail shop and contemporary coffee bar.

Cooper’s will be installing two bean-to-cup machines in the cafe area to cater for self-serve customers while its own blend coffee will go on sale in the new retail area.

A new espresso machine and grinder will be installed in the new coffee bar, which is due to open on April 20.

Staff at the Pavilion will all undergo intensive barista training from Cooper’s trainer, Danielle Hadley, to ensure that they are capable of making coffee to the very highest standard.

The National Coal Mining Museum has also installed a Dalla Corte espresso machine and grinder into its cafe in a bid to improve the quality of coffee served to its customers.

Richard Saward, operations director at the museum, said: "We aim to use only regional companies and are delighted to have found a local coffee supplier with such an excellent reputation."

David Cooper, managing director at Cooper’s Coffee, said: "In the current trading conditions, winning these two contracts is a real boost for the company and is a result of our sales strategy and hard work.

"We have ambitious growth targets in place and hope to continue adding new accounts as well as growing our existing customer base."

The latest contracts follow Cooper’s success in being appointed the first drinks supplier for Fodder, the Yorkshire Agricultural Society’s new flagship shop and cafe set to open in May at Harrogate.
