TWO smooth operators in the business world are set to reveal the secrets of their success.

After a break of three years, Huddersfield University’s Business School is embarking on a new series of Guest Entrepreneur Events – where leading lights in the business world address an audience of local business people and students.

Kicking-off the new series is Richard Reed, co-founder of smoothies firm Innocent Drinks, who will deliver his lecture at the Business School lecture theatre on Friday, October 7.

Richard, who hails from Kirkheaton, was awarded an honorary degree by the university in 2010. The former Batley Grammar School pupil founded the Innocent drinks brand with two university friends back in 1999 and the company now boasts turnover of about £100m.

In the second event, Town chairman Dean Hoyle will talk to Prof John Thompson, professor of entrepreneurship at the university, about his success growing greetings card business The Card Factory into a multi-milion pound business.

The event on Thursday, October 13, will also include a Q&A session with other executives from Huddersfield Town about running the club.
