KIRKLEES companies have been urged to help reduce the risks facing their businesses.

Firms across the district have been invited to attend a two-day Fundamentals of Risk Management course run by the Institute of Risk Management.

The event, which takes place on January 23 and 24 at the Rose Bowl In Leeds, provides a comprehensive introduction to risk management

It comes at a time when high-profile organisations have repeatedly fallen victim to risks that were either unexpected or inadequately mitigated.

Steve Fowler (pictured, right), IRM chief executive, said: “Managing risk is not just about avoiding pitfalls, but is also about positioning the organisation to take maximum advantage of business opportunities.

“Our course provides a practical introduction to the tools and techniques of risk management for any sort of organisation.”
