TRAINEES attending a Brighouse-based engineering training provider have passed with flying colours.

Kirkdale Industrial Training Services, based at Armytage Road, staged its annual prize presentations evening at the Galpharm Stadium in Huddersfield.

About 400 people – including award recipients, families and friends, employer representatives and prize sponsors – attended the event to see more than 400 certificates and special awards presented for engineering and motor vehicle apprenticeship achievements.

The awards were presented by Nick Wilson, regional director of the National Apprenticeship Service.

The Apprentice of the Year Award went to John Roberts who is a Mechanical apprentice with Clyde Union Pumps Ltd.

KITS chief executive David Todhunter said: “It was another tremendous evening celebrating the record achievement of Learners and I watch with interest their career development.”
