STAFF at a Holme Valley business took an unusual approach to tackling stress during the hectic Christmas period.
Holmfirth-based dairy products firm Longley enlisted complementary therapy practice Yorkshire Therapies to provide neck and shoulder massages to its 110 employees.
“Stress is not only harmful psychologically, it has been shown to lower our immune system and affect our physical wellbeing,” said Yorkshire Therapies owner Marsha Allen Dawson.
She added: “More and more forward-thinking organisations are realising the benefits of tackling stress before it becomes a problem. “Employees not only feel good about themselves, they also tend to have a much more positive approach to problem solving when they are not stressed.”
Yorkshire Therapies, based at Armitage Bridge, offers treatments including hot stone therapy, Indian head massage, reflexology and aromatherapy.
