A Huddersfield firm has been recognised for its industry-leading efforts in health and safety management.

Longwood Engineering, based at Silver Street, Aspley, has landed a silver award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). The award will be presented at the RoSPA awards presentation and gala dinner in July in Birmingham.

Longwood Engineering specialises in providing automated screens and screenings handling equipment to a wide range of organisations in need of advanced water filtration expertise. The company has been accredited to OHSAS 18001 for many years, but this is the first year of entering the RoSPA Awards.

This award places Longwood Engineering head and shoulders above other organisations in the same industry and demonstrates the company’s commitment to leading the way in improving health and safety standards across the board.

The company had to meet a rigorous judging criteria by providing evidence of their approach to health and safety management and a commitment to continuous improvement. The business demonstrated how it has created an environment that enhances the well-being of its employees and also benefits stakeholders.
