MAJOR Recruitment Ltd is helping provide companies across the north with high-calibre staff.

The company, which has offices at Cloth Hall Street in Huddersfield, was founded in 1992 in Morley and focused initially on industrial temporary recruitment for local firms.

Major Recruitment steadily raised its profile throughout the 1990s, opening new offices in Dewsbury and Wakefield in response to growing demand for its services.

The company went on to achieve Investors in People accreditation, reflecting its commitment to developing its own staff.

Continued success resulted in the opening of two branches in 2000 – at Bradford and Hunslet – specialising in industrial temporary staff.

The following year saw the launch two new divisions focusing on temporary and permanent commercial recruitment and delivering skilled personnel to the engineering, manufacturing and construction sectors.

In 2002, it opened another industrial division in Huddersfield – enabling Major Recruitment to lay claim to being the largest industrial recruiter in West Yorkshire.

In 2003, the company developed its specialist industrial division in South Yorkshire by opening a branch in Doncaster and setting up a new division providing on-site management of accounts, outsourced human resources and payroll functions.

It also expanded into Lincolnshire with the takeover of Avalon Employment Services in Scunthorpe.

The following year, it expanded its technical division into Kirklees area and made its first foray into the north-west with the opening of an industrial branch in Rochdale.

Major Recruitment has experienced growth of over 35% year-on-year for the past four years.
