HUDDERSFIELD businesses have been given an insight into trading with one of the world’s wealthiest economies.

The Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce hosted a briefing on business opportunities in Dubai at its Lockwood headquarters.

Delegates from scores of firms were provided with information and advice on launching or expanding business ventures on the United Arab Emirates from senior officials of the Dubai Government’s department of tourism and commerce marketing.

They were welcomed by chamber director Andrew Choi, who also introduced representatives of the UK Government’s export support arm, UK Trade & Investments.

A chamber spokesman said: “The free briefing was mainly aimed at small to medium-sized companies who have little or no activity in Dubai as well as those looking to expand their businesses in the Emirates.”
