A FIRM providing wall coverings from digital images is in the frame at the Huddersfield Business Awards.
Myfotowall.com creates dramatic wall coverings using images from its own extensive library or supplied by the client.
The images are ordered online, the print is produced to fit the required space and the picture is delivered by post as wallpaper.
The outsize pictures are in demand for car showrooms, reception areas and high street stores as well as among individual customers.
Managing director Stephen Armitage started the company in 2003 — and it’s all thanks to his daughter. While out shopping, she saw a poster, but wanted it big enough to stretch from floor to ceiling.
Said Mr Armitage: “I soon realised no one was capable of producing something so bespoke on such a scale at an affordable price.
“It took 18 months to develop the software and technical side, then we set up the website to enable people to upload their own images — or use ours — and in four easy steps, create and order their own unique picture wallpaper product.’’
Myfotowall.com has been boosted by six-figure funding from Partnership Investment Finance through its £37m regional fund. PIF is part-funded by the European Union and private sector finance.
Myfotowall.com boasts an impressive client list, including Aston Martin, Ikea and airports operator BAA. It has also hit the export trail by landing contracts with car manufacturer Bentley in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
