A COMPANY supplying fire fighting equipment is blazing a trail as the latest winner of a monthly business award.
Holmfirth-based North Fire Ltd was selected for the award run by Huddersfield law firm Eaton Smith in conjunction with the Mid Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce and Business Link Yorkshire.
North Fire Ltd is the UK’s exclusive partner with world-wide market leader, Rosenbauer International for supplying aerial fire trucks and fire fighting equipment.
The Holmfirth firm supplies fire fighting equipment to 80% of the UK and Ireland’s fire brigades and has recently become the official sales agent for Rosenbauer’s aerial fire fighting vehicles.
The firm was established in 2008 by Oliver North, who started his career in the army as a physical training instructor in the Royal Engineers.
After seven successful years, he left to pursue a career in business and used his brief stint as a firefighter in 2002 as a springboard to move into the industry.
In conjunction with Rosenbauer, the firm has also developed new innovative flood defence equipment, which it supplies to local fire brigades.
Mr North, said: “For a company in its relative infancy to receive such positive recognition in light of the last two-and-a-half years’ hard work is not only flattering but enthusing to all our staff who have made such a large effort and contribution in this time.”
