SET-TOP box manufacturer Pace warned the worst floods in Thailand in 50 years will cost the firm up to £6m after a major supplier was forced to halt production.

The Saltaire-based group issued its third profit warning of the year after the floods, which killed nearly 300 people and damaged more than 700,000 homes, hit hard-disk firm Western Digital.

The facility in Bangkok has suspended production of hard disk drives used in its satellite, Freeview and cable set-top boxes.

Pace said the “worst case impact” would be a £6m fall in full-year operating profits.
