A RECRUITMENT agency is enjoying international success - as it prepares for a change of name.
Huddersfield-based Prime 50 Plus has received recruitment enquiries from as far afield as Australia, Canada, Singapore and China.
The company, which is part of newly-formed Prime Recruitment Service, has also been appointed to recruit national sales forces for two client firms.
One is an international business which supplies sophisticated surveillance systems.
The second is a company producing TV adverts to target markets using the internet and media networks.
Prime 50 Plus already uses video technology to link employers and candidates for web meetings.
It also encourages jobhunters to make their own video profiles.
Prime 50 Plus, headed by Paul Kern and John Robinson, is based at the Media Centre, Northumberland Street.
It was formed to focus on helping older people into work - but is now broadening its scope to include people of all ages.
The idea behind Prime 50 Plus concept was born in 2001 while Mr Kern was working with people in the 50 plus age group looking at pre-retirement issues.
He discovered that many people would prefer not to retire - and favoured continuing to use their skills and experience in the jobs market from which they felt excluded.
It became apparent to Paul and business partner John Robinson that there was an opportunity to promote their skills, experience and positive attitude of this age group to employers.
Mr Robinson said the firm was now changing its name to PrimeXperience to underline its widening role.
He said: "The focus will remain 'putting experience to work'. We recognise that every person has valuable experience and skills to offer - whether they are fresh out of the academic system, at the pinnacle of their career or all stages in between and beyond."
Mr Kern said: "We will continue to champion people who offer the skills and experience much needed by employers - regardless of a person's age."
Mr Kern has worked in the public and private sectors specialising in recruitment and outplacement consultancy, construction, social housing and quality management, with extensive experience in senior management.
Mr Robinson has senior management experience with major national companies in retailing, recruitment, human resources and systems management.
