TWO companies have merged to form a new force in the vehicle repair sector.

Independent Land Rover parts specialist Pennine 4x4 have merged with tractor and agricultural repairs business D Barnes to provide a new and comprehensive parts and mechanical service.

The merged business, based at Brookwoods Industrial Estate, Holywell Green, is headed by owners Chris Barnes and Ian Culpan and now offers full repair facilities, electronic diagnostics, tyre services routine checks and 4x4 parts.

Mr Barnes, who heads the mechanical side of the business, has worked for 14 years as a specialist mechanic. His interest in agricultural machinery was sparked as a young child helping his father, David Barnes, work on various tractors and farming machinery.

Mr Culpan is in charge of the parts and administration side of the business and has more than seven years experience, which includes founding the original Pennine 4x4 business, which he built up from a small parts supplier into a healthy and competitive business.
