Insolvency and business turnaround expert Peter Sargent has been appointed as a consultant by Cleckheaton-based BHP Clough Corporate Solutions (BHP CCS).
Mr Sargent brings more than 35 years of experience to the role. He previously ran his own insolvency practice which he sold to a national corporate rescue and recovery organisation.
He is a former president of R3, the trade body for insolvency practitioners, and is an active member of Insol, which is the world’s leading insolvency association.
In his new role, he will work alongside BHP CCS’s seven-strong team, which specialises in advising and guiding individuals and companies through all types of financial challenges.
Mr Sargent, who lives in Huddersfield, said: “BHP CCS is a well-respected and reputable Yorkshire insolvency team which I am delighted to be joining. I’ve always enjoyed my work and even after 35 years I still thrive on identifying ways to preserve businesses before guiding them towards a solution, so I’m looking forward to the challenges this role offers.”

It works alongside BHP Chartered Accountants, the region’s largest independent firm of chartered accountants. The group has six offices across Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, more than 300 people and revenues approaching £18m.
