A SOFTWARE accountancy firm in Huddersfield has been hailed one of the industry’s best.

Liquid Accounts, based at Slaithwaite, is one of the pioneers of the sector and has been creating online accounting software since 2001.

It has now won plaudits from industry expert Nigel Harris, who hailed its product as “one of the few fully-featured accounts packages online” and recommended that accountants looking to offer an online service to their clients “should take a serious look at Liquid Accounts”.

Matt Holmes, managing director for Liquid Accounts, said: “We are delighted with this glowing – and independent – endorsement of our service, particularly from a respected reviewer and accountant like Nigel.

“We have been overwhelmed by the response we’ve had from people who have seen it: our sales have tripled, we’re being inundated by calls from accountants who want to use it – over 40 have signed up so far – and we’ve signed up our first international customer.”

In his review, Nigel noted that Liquid Accounts’ software was one of the most flexible and sophisticated packages available. He also noted that its wealth of features made it difficult to image where it would be unable to meet a potential user’s needs.

Liquid Accounts was formed in 2005 by Matt Holmes, Jon Wright and Lisa Kendrick.

Matt and Jon, who had collaborated on several software development projects in the past, decided to launch their own business – roping in Lisa to handle marketing.
