FAVOURITE carols will feature at a concert to raise cash for the Holmfirth Christmas lights.

The concert, called One Thousand Christmas Lights, has been organised by Holme Valley Business Association.

It takes place at 7pm tomorrow in Huddersfield Town Hall.

Sellers International Band will be joined by youngsters from Holme Valley Children's Choir and Hade Edge and Meltham Schools Choir.

The soloists are singer Lucy Christofi and cornettist Ian Culross.

Greg Christofi, president of the business association, said the concert would help to pay for this year's lights, which cost £30,000.

The spectacular display was switched on at the end of last month by rock music legend Bill Wyman.

Tickets for the concert cost £5, £6 or £10.

They are available from the tourist information offices in Holmfirth and Huddersfield.
