A LAW firm with offices in Huddersfield has secured a £1m funding package.
Switalskis, which was formed in Wakefield in 1993, has six offices across West Yorkshire – at New Street in Huddersfield and at Wakefield, Leeds, Bradford, Dewsbury and Halifax.
It employs about 170 staff and covers 10 areas of family, crime and child law.
Funding from the Royal Bank of Scotland – under the Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme – will provide Switalskis with additional facilities to support its future growth. The practice aims to increase turnover by 33% to £8m over the next 12 months.
Managing partner John Durkan said: “We have grown the business considerably over the past few years, becoming one of the largest Legal Aid practices in the region.
“The EFG scheme funding will ensure we hit our growth targets while at the same time ensuring we are well-placed to cope with the rapidly changing legal landscape.”
Funding was provided through Jon Hughes from the RBS Commercial Banking team in Wakefield.
The £1m funding package was provided as part of the recently launched EFG Scheme – the Government backed scheme designed to provide businesses with the necessary working capital or investment finance.
Under the scheme, the Government will guarantee 75% of any loans made.
