PUBLISHER Trinity Mirror today put the Examiner and its sister titles at the heart of its growth strategy for the future.

Announcing the results of a business review, the Examiner's parent company said its regional publishing businesses in the north-west, Yorkshire, the north-east and Wales were well-placed for profit growth in print and online.

It also gave a vote of confidence to its national titles which, despite media speculation, will not be split from the regionals and sold.

Trinity Mirror said it planned to sell its businesses in the south and the Midlands, as well as the Racing Post.
