Retailer United Carpets and Beds has introduced more efficient waste practices at eight of its UK stores after a deal with Elland-based Orchard Facilities Management.

The Rotherham-based franchised flooring and bed retailer said introducing the new management processes at eight of its franchises would enable it to streamline operations, simplify administration and reduce costs.

United Carpets is the second-largest carpet and floor covering retailer in the UK with 60-plus stores.

James Holdsworth, of Orchard, said: “Restructuring of waste services is already under way at the Lincoln site and will be introduced at further stores across the Midlands and North of England in the coming weeks and months. “
