A FORMER board director of the Bradford & Bingley is the new chief executive of Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Mark Stevens (pictured) takes the helm of the UK’s largest regional medical charity in succession to Elaine King, who retires after 15 years in the role.

Mr Stevens, who takes up his post in June, said: “Thanks to the generosity of Yorkshire people and an army of very committed volunteers, the charity has raised over £50m in recent years to fund world-class research programmes in our region.”

Mr Stevens has 20 years experience in business.
