MORE than 1,000 businesses in Yorkshire have benefited from a £48m fund to help with skills and training. The Train to Gain Enhancement Fund was launched last year by the Learning and Skills Council and regional development agency Yorkshire Forward. More than £3m of the fund has been committed in the region. Huddersfield companied can still apply by calling 0800 0155545 to contact a local “skills broker” who will identify their training needs and direct them to the appropriate training and funding. The fund, administered by Calderdale College in Halifax, provides support for staff.
